Ultrasonic Furnace
Smelts everything a furnace does, with no fuel: ultrasound heats it from inside. In the normal gear at full power (8 W a slot) three times faster than a furnace. Feed it ultrasound through a waveguide; the line’s gear sets pace and power.
Smelting works at any ultrasound.
Cavitation: things only it does, each needing a line of at least its kilohertz (see JEI): rotten flesh to leather, kelp to slime, a bone to six bone meal, dirt to clay, cobweb to string, sand to sonoluminescent glass.
Modules plug into sockets: the copper flanges on the left and right of every block of the furnace (tier I: 2, II: 4, III: 8). Nowhere else will take one. Holding a module shows the free sockets nearby. Plugged in, a module takes the furnace’s look; its cables pulse while it works.
- Chamber: one more slot in parallel (and its 8 W).
- Accelerator: +50% speed, +80% power.
- Saver: -25% power, -10% speed.
- Buffer: stores 400 J and keeps it going without power.
The switch in the window shares power evenly between working slots, or gives it in order: with weak power it finishes things one after another.
Upgrade: click a furnace with a Quartz Transducer (to II: a second storey) or a Resonant Core (to III: a transducer housing behind). It needs the room and keeps its contents; breaking any block breaks the whole furnace.
