Now let the fungus feed the drumcap. Wake a Sporangium in a fairy ring and put it on dirt next to a chest of food, and a Fruiting Body on dirt next to the drumcap, a few blocks away. The mycelium grows through the soil to it and starts carrying the food over.

Wear Mycologist’s Goggles: the mycelium glows through the ground, parcels drift along it, and looking at a strand or a fungus shows its stats and genome. Strands that carry things thicken; the rest die back.
